Wool is the most fire resistant of all commonly used fabrics. That includes cotton and other regular man-made fabrics and yarns.
(And while we’d never suggest throwing the competition on the bonfire, FLOC knitwear is the only premium brand made solely with 100% traceable, British wool).
Natural fire resistance is also why wool was the fabric of choice for firemen's uniforms up until the 1980's, when other highly specialist fabrics came onto the scene.
