You don’t need to wash wool as often as other materials because it’s naturally stain and odour resistant. For a quick refresher, just hang your FLOC beanie or scarf outside on a breezy day. 

When your garment does need washing, handwash it with a specialist detergent like Ecover Wool & Silk or Soakwash Scentless. For the best results, turn the garment inside out and wash in clean, lukewarm water using a mild detergent. Soak it for around 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly in lukewarm water, followed by cold water and then dry flat.

Wool is also water and stain repellent, but after a few minutes, liquid will begin to soak into the fabric. To spot clean stains, use warm water and mild detergent to soak the stained area and blot with a soft cloth. Don’t scrub the fabric because you’ll damage the fibres. Treat the stain as soon as you can before it dries.
